Choose your shame

Luke 9:24-26 ESV

For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.  For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses or forfeits himself?  For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed when he comes in HIS glory and the glory of the FATHER and of the holy angels.

As, I took my evening walk last night and I contemplated all that is before me.  I thought for a brief second just how foolish I must look to those around me as I forge forward towards what GOD has promised me.  For, as HE directs me I go. It makes no earthly sense, but my soul is fully assured of the outcome, because GOD spoke it.  So I press on.

It only lasted a brief second, because quickly GOD reminded me of Noah.  HE said he (Noah) looked like a fool to many, as he was building this massive boat and speaking of rain.  Then to top it all off, he had to find and bring to the ark every living thing.  Yes, I think it's safe to say that Noah was probably looked at as being a little "special" by those around him.  Yet Noah built the ark and saved his family.

You see, GOD gave Noah a word.  HE gave him instructions and Noah made a very big decision in that moment.  Noah chose to obey GOD rather than man.

I want to encourage you today, no matter what obstacles you face.  No matter what the crowd around you may think.  Nor does it matter what you may feel.  (For our feelings are subject to change and are deceptive at best.  Our feelings are often what the enemy of our soul uses to get us off course of GOD's will for our lives.)  Just remember that the word of GOD is tried and true!

Noah was 600 years old when the rains began.  It doesn't matter how old you are.  It doesn't matter who you use to be.  It doesn't even matter if no one else believes the word GOD gave to you.  The only thing that matters is that you choose to believe the word of GOD!

Keep building and keep on believing for in due time the word of GOD will come to pass
and you will find that the shame you endured from man, is far outweighed by the reward you will receive from our Heavenly FATHER for your obedience.
