Take Captive

2 Corinthians 10:4-5  ESV

For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.  We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of GOD, and take every thought captive to obey CHRIST.


While communicating with my sister a couple of weeks ago she said these words to me...."Take captive your thoughts!! Is that (the words I spoke) what you know in your faith-filled mind?"  Immediately, this scripture rose up in my spirit!

GOD never gives us instructions or direction on how to do something, if HE has not given us the ability and power to do the very thing HE is asking of us to do.  HE has told us that the weapons we have are not of the flesh.  For our GOD knows that we are not warring with the flesh, but with spirits.  Yet, though we are flesh, we have divine power to destroy every stronghold.  We have divine power to capture every thought!

What are you thinking?  Is it opposing what you know about GOD and HIS promises for your life?  Ask yourself the very question my sister asked me.  Is that thought something you "know" in your faith-filled mind?  If it is not, take it captive; imprison it!!  Lock it up and throw away the key!

Do not allow thoughts and imaginations to take over your mind.  The word says for as a man thinks in his heart so is he.  If you allow the imaginations spoken to your spirit by the enemy to move in, then you will begin to see yourself the way he wants you to see yourself and not the way GOD sees you.  Your actions will follow your thoughts.  So think on the good things of our LORD and Savior JESUS CHRIST!
