Because you believed
Matthew 8:5-11; 13 NLT
When JESUS returned to Capernaum, a Roman officer came and pleaded with him, "LORD, my young servant lies in bed paralyzed and in terrible pain." JESUS said, "I will come and heal him." But the officer said, "LORD, I am not worthy to have you come into my home. Just say the word from where you are, and my servant will be healed. I know this because I am under the authority of my superior officers, and I have authority over my soldiers. I only need to say, 'Go,' and they go, or 'Come,' and they come. And if I say to my slaves, 'Do this', they do it." When JESUS heard this, he was amazed. Turning to those who were following him, he said, "I tell you the truth, I haven't seen faith like this in all Israel!
v.13 Then JESUS said to the Roman officer, "Go back home. Because you believed, it has happened." And the young servant was healed that same hour.
I believe in my heart that there is someone reading this today who has believed the word of GOD. Something has laid sick in your life. Be it your body, or the body of a loved one. Perhaps it is your finances, your marriage a business or a wayward child. There is something that you have believed GOD to just speak a word to and in an instant have it be changed.
I am here to tell you today, that it is so! Don't stop believing! The LORD said to this officer, "because you believed, it has happened." The JESUS we serve today is that same JESUS that healed this officer's servant then. HE has not forgotten you. HE sees your situation. HE has spoken to it and because you have believed, it shall be so!
Keep the faith, walk as though you know that when you return home it is already done. Walk as though you know GOD has already provided. Walk as though you know who you are! In this chapter in the bible; this very story to be exact; in another verse, speaks of how this soldier was not even of the house of Israel. Yet this man believed in GOD and HIS power.
This part of the chapter is for the person who just read this word and thought, that's not for me....I'm not that good of a christian. Or perhaps for the one who may have been fooled by the enemy for just a brief second and caused to believe that this cannot happen for you. I bind up that lie in the name of JESUS and say again to you.... because you believed!!!
Today, make a choice to not let anything hinder your faith. Make a choice to believe GOD in spite of what things look like. Remain in a place of expectancy and keep on believing!
