Character Flaws

Numbers 23: 19 ESV

GOD is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind.  Has he said, and will he not do it?  Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?

This is one of those ah hah moments!  So over the last couple of days, the message has been the same in my life.  From the pulpit we were reminded that we are not orphans.  That our FATHER is not an absentee father.  Then every opportunity that GOD has given me to minister to someone over the last several days, at some point, we have discussed the character of GOD and the assurance we have in HIS word.

Yet, not until this very morning did I receive full revelation of this scripture.  I've heard it preached and spoken for years, always leaving feeling as though there was more for me in these words.  However, the focus continued to be on the fact that HE cannot lie.  This in and of itself is and has been a blessing to my soul in many situations.

However, this morning as I prayed for a word to give today.  When HE took me to this scripture it all came together for me.  It is more than HIM telling us that HE cannot lie.  The bigger message is; "Don't see me as you see man."

So often we look at GOD as though we are dealing with man.  Man, (me included) has character flaws.  Each and every one of us.  We may not like to admit it.  Most choose to excuse theirs because they aren't as bad as others.  Yet, we have them.

So often we base how we see GOD on our experience with man.  We fail to receive in our spirit that HE loves us in spite of ourselves.  We often struggle with the idea that GOD is going to love and bless us past our mess.  For, mankind seldom does.  As humans we often have limits to our love.

I encourage you today, to change how you see GOD.  I pray HE will give you a new revelation of just who HE truly is.  That you will see just how much HE really loves you and how HE truly wants to bless you; in spite of your own character flaws.

GOD knew everything about us, before HE ever called us.  HE makes no mistakes and HIS gifts and callings are without repentance.  So get up.  Stop beating yourself up and accept HIS love, forgiveness and the abundant life GOD has for you.  Everything HE promised to you, shall come to pass.  Trust HIM, wait on HIM and believe you've already received HIS promises and watch our daddy keep HIS word!  For HE is not man and HE has not changed HIS mind about you!
