Go ahead and make my day!
2 Chronicles 20:3, 22-24 ESV
v. 3 Alarmed, Jehoshaphat resolved to inquire of the LORD, and he proclaimed a fast for all Judah.
v. 22-23 As they began to sing and praise, the LORD set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated. The Ammonites and Moabites rose up against the men from Mount Seir to destroy and annihilate them. After they finished slaughtering the men from Seir, they helped to destroy one another.
v 24 When the men of Judah came to the place that overlooks the desert and looked toward the vast army, they saw only dead bodies lying on the ground; no one had escaped.
This story brought new meaning to me this morning. Many of us have been called to fast during this season. Some for days, others for weeks and months. I say to you in this season do not miss your breakthrough. Do not simply go through the motions of this fast. Come expecting abundant blessings, turnaround, deliverance and breakthrough!!!
Inquire of the LORD, seek HIM for real!! Praise HIM in advance. Go ahead of this thing and sing praises unto HIM.
You see the people of GOD inquired of the LORD. They asked HIM, LORD what should we do? What is it that you want from us? They laid it all out before HIM and made themselves available to HIM.
Then as HE instructed, they went forth and they did it with a praise on their lips. Not because their enemies had already been defeated in the physical. But because they believed the word of GOD for their victory and deliverance so much so, that they began to praise HIM as they headed out to war.
As they marched towards the battle where they might have received life long scars and for some, even death. Yet, at HIS word they marched on in praise. And our faithful GOD inhabited the praises of HIS people and before they could ever get to the front line, HE destroyed their enemies. Every last one of them lay dead.
Go ahead and praise and watch GOD make your day, better yet watch HIM make your life! Watch HIM make it abundant. Watch HIM defeat your enemies. Watch our GOD deliver on HIS promises!
