Leave it all behind
Matthew 4:20 ESV
Immediately they left their nets and followed him.
There comes a point in your life where you have to make a decision. We all have places in our lives where we keep hidden (or so we think) from the LORD. We want JESUS, but we don't want HIM to access this one little place in us. That one addiction, wrong way of thinking. That one action that we want to hold on to just a little bit longer. Yet, the time will come when we will have to choose.
I know it sounds cliche and most listen to these words without much thought. I also know that it is easier to say than to do. But at some point in our lives we will either leave it all behind or we will get left behind. We'll remain stagnant when we should be growing and being prosperous in every area of our lives.
At some point you have got to want GOD and the things that HE has for you more than you want that next high or that next good time. At some point you have to choose to either keep listening to the devil and his lies, or to wholeheartedly trust GOD.
Yes, it's scary walking away from life as you know it. For it is all you've ever known; it is your only reference point. Yet, the one who created life, gives life and increases your life is calling you to walk with HIM. Do you not know that this decision will only improve your life?
I want to encourage you today, to make this day, the day that you choose to leave it all behind for the life GOD has planned for you since the beginning of time. Your "it" may be different than someone else's "it" . Nevertheless, if "it" is keeping you from the blessed life; "it" has to go.
