Peace in the midst of
2 Kings 4:21-23 NKJV
And she went up and laid him on the bed of the man of GOD, shut the door upon him, and went out. Then she called to her husband, and said, "Please send me one of the young men and one of the donkeys, that I may run to the man of GOD and come back." So he said, "Why are you going to him today? It is neither the New Moon nor the Sabbath." And she said, "It is well."
This Shunammite woman was no fool. She was well aware that life had left her son's body. She was well aware as she held him as his spirit man left his physical/flesh man. Yet, not at any point in the scripture does the word note her to be angry, frustrated or to become unglued. She simply closed the door on him and went to the only man that she knew who could turn her situation around.
Some of you reading this today have situations where the only person who can help you is JESUS. You have told HIM what it is that you stand in need of. I encourage you not to move without HIM. I encourage you to close the door on the "dead thing" and to go running to JESUS.
Be the thing that you've laid down your marriage, your finances, your children, or your future. No matter what it is lay it down and run to JESUS.
I want to also encourage you to only speak life. Say to your situation "it is well."
Not once did this woman tell anyone that her son was dead. She didn't tell his father nor the servants. She simply laid him down and ran after the man of GOD. Be careful to only speak life to your situation. Even if it is your marriage that you've prayed over for 20 years. Whatever your promise is; the very thing that seems to be dead speak life to it!!! Lay it before GOD and allow HIM to resurrect it!
