What HE left behind
Luke 24:5-8 AMP
In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, "Why do you look for the living among the dead? HE is not here; HE has risen! Remember how HE told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 'The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.'" Then they remembered HIS words.
This morning I woke up with renewed faith; with an excitement greater than that of even yesterday's. Everyday that I walk with CHRIST; the more and more HE reveals HIMself to me.
I've read these verses many, many times. I've probably heard this scripture preached thousands of times. Yet, this morning.....oh this morning it has truly blessed my soul!
When the angels (referred to as men, because the women supposed that they were men), asked why do you look for the living among the dead? We all assume the obvious. That they are speaking about JESUS and that the dead they are talking about is merely the dead bodies of those that had been laid to rest previously. Yet, this morning, I pray that you can grasp hold to the fact that JESUS left more than that at the graveyard that day.
In verse 12 it states: Peter, however, got up and ran to the tomb. Bending over, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves, and he went away wondering to himself what had happened.
The strips of clothing represents everything that bound you. JESUS left them in the tomb, in the place of the dead. HE conquered not only what was meant to hold HIS physical body to death; HE conquered what was meant to hold you.
Do you remember in the story of Lazarus, that when JESUS called him forth from the dead and Lazarus came forth? JESUS said to those who were standing around "loose him and let him go." This was because Lazarus was covered in the cloths of linen that traditionally the dead were wrapped in. Yet, our SAVIOR needed no one to loose HIM from HIS. HE released their hold on HIM! Those garments had no power to hold HIS body there!
Through HIS death, burial and resurrection HE freed us from everything and left it all in the tomb. I encourage you from this day forward to walk in the freedom, power and authority that our SAVIOR paid for thousands of years ago.
HE took all that would attempt to bind you to death (spiritual and physical) and HE left it in the place of the dead. For it no longer had life; it no longer had the power to hold!! Oh Glory! I pray your spirit receives this revelation. I pray that your spirit will rise up and walk in dominion knowing that you are free. For on that great day that our LORD rose again, everything that appeared to have power over you was left in that tomb thousands of years ago.
So no more condemnation, for it was left in the tomb. No more doubt and fear, it was left in the tomb. No more of whatever held you just minutes before reading this word; for it too was left in the tomb.
