Steadfast Love

Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV

The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; HIS mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

Steadfast - resolutely or dutifully firm and unwavering. Loyal, faithful, committed, devoted, dedicated, dependable, reliable, steady, true, constant, staunch, solid, trusty (dictionary.com)

The words of this scripture bring encouragement and hope.  Yet, the twenty verses before it spoke of pain, hurt and brokenness.  It was almost as if these verses don't actually fit in this chapter.  That is until the verse right before it which says: (v.21) But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope...

To remember the goodness of GOD; to recall HIS steadfast love brings hope.  Today, I encourage you to not lose hope in this season.  To not become discouraged or allow your heart to faint within you. The love of GOD is reliable, true, constant, dependable and solid.  HE is forever watching over you and protecting you.  Do not lose sight of this.   

v.24-26

"The LORD is my portion," says my soul, "therefore I will hope in HIM."  The LORD is good to those who wait for HIM, to the soul who seeks HIM.  It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD.
