Love Never Fails

I Corinthians 13:8 NIV

Love never fails.  But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

There is so much power in this scripture.  Love never fails.  In the end, it is all that matters.  Everything else will pass away, but love will forever remain.  Wonder if that's why the LORD tells us to love our enemies???

Have you ever taken a moment to really consider why your enemies may be your enemies?  Opposing spirits.  Yes, they exist and yes, the enemy will use whomever and whatever he can to rise against the knowledge of GOD.  But have you taken a second and realized that you have the tools to dismantle everything opposing you?  Have you discovered that you carry the greatest weapon on the inside of you.....Love?

Love is healing.  It is undefeated.  Love can walk into a room and calm the crankiest of babies and kindle the haughty spirit of a man.  Love is everything.  Love is the reason runaways (both young and old) come home, because at the end of the day when there is love, in spite of what you may have done, when you have a love you can depend on; one that you know will never end.........it can change your whole world.

Love will drive you to repentance.  Love will make your teenager turn away from a bad decision they are about to make.  Not because you fussed at them and threatened their lives.  But because you love them, hands down no matter what.  It is in the defining moments of life that love shows up and makes all the difference.  

Oh what a blessing it is to be loved.  But greater to me than being loved is the ability to love in spite of.  Love is a gift we choose to give.  We can choose to be bitter, angry and wallow in the hurts and disappointments of life.  Or we can choose to be love in this earth.  That's what I choose!

Whoever does not love does not know GOD, because GOD is Love.

This scripture has always fascinated me..... GOD is Love.  Not that GOD loves and that HIS love is great.  No, the word says that GOD is love.

My soul is excited.  GOD is love and "is" means to be.  GOD being love...... a continuous state.

Will you be the face of GOD today and allow love to flow from you into every place you go?  Will you allow GOD to use your heart to bring joy to others around you?  You don't get to decide who gets your love first.  You've got to decide first, to be love and to be used by GOD.  We must learn that love is a gift, like grace and mercy for which none of us truly deserve, so GOD gave it to us freely.  Let's not waste another day deciding who is deserving, because if that is really what we want, we'll all fall short and never make the list.  Yet by grace, we have received the gift of salvation, love and mercy.  Let's extend the gift today!
