In the Whisper

1 Kings 19:12-13 ESV

And after the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire.  And after the fire the sound of a low whisper.  And when Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his cloak and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave.  And behold, there came a voice to him and said, "What are you doing here, Elijah?

My soul was truly blessed at the revelation of this scripture.  I mark certain scriptures in my bible time and time again.  I do this because there is something about them that makes me want more understanding and yesterday it came for this story.

Have you too ever wondered why GOD was not in all the big things; the fire, the earthquake?  Yet, HE was in the whisper?  A whisper, a word or sound that can only be heard when you are in close proximity.  Yep, you got it.  GOD wants you to know today, that HE is ever so close to you.  It does not matter what you've done or how embarrassed you feel.  It doesn't matter that you ran away or that you even wanted to die.  It definitely does not matter what opposing spirit is chasing you.  GOD will come and find you in the deep dark crevices of your cave.  That is what HE is doing today in this word.  GOD wants you to know that HE loves  you.  That HE has not left you.  That you don't have to perform some big act or wait to see some big sign to show that you are forgiven.  It is finished.  So there's no demon, generational curse or any thing else that can stand between you and our GOD.  For HE loves you, HE's already proved it, HE paid the ultimate price for you!

Come out of your cave today.  Step into HIS favor.  Surrender your life to GOD.  HE is waiting on you!
