The Years!

Joel 2:25-27 KJV

And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.  And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your GOD, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed.  And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the LORD your GOD, and none else: and my people shall never be ashamed.

This scripture was always one that encouraged me. But recently something stood out to me that I pretty much scooted past for years.  It is the word "years".  GOD says I will restore to you the years.  The year is the longest measurement of time for us,(of course I know years can become decades and centuries, but just stay with me.)  We go from all the ways we measure time like seconds to minutes, minutes to hours, hours to days, days to months then months to years by which decades and centuries are counted.  This one word blessed my soul in this revelation, as there have been promises I've waited years for.  One particular promise to be exact, had weighed heavy on me.

I still believe GOD for it.  Although it has at times past, been disappointing that it has taken so long.  Yet, lately GOD has been speaking to me about time.  HE said this to me... Time is not relevant because I am not in it...meaning time does not confine HIM.  We, as humans know only time and we are often afraid we are going to run out of it.  This fear is what often brings disbelief, panic and even causes many to quit before their promises are fulfilled in the earth.

I want to encourage you today, don't be discouraged and don't come into this new year sad about what hasn't taken place yet.  I know for some of you it has been decades and you're still waiting.  Be encouraged today!  Our GOD does not and cannot lie, so believe that HE will not only keep HIS promise, but that HE is going to restore the years to you.  You will not be ashamed oh, children of GOD!  Hold fast to HIS promise and continue to walk by faith!
