Day 12 - Speak Without Accusing

James 1:19 ESV
Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger.

Today, choose to use soft words when speaking to others.  A kind word drives away wrath.  Even if the person deserves what it is you may say or even do to them.  No matter how repulsive their actions are, keep in mind that they are still human.  Speak to the human and not to the spirit behind their unfortunate actions.

Call them out from that spirit in love through your speech.  Sometimes a kind word, especially when you know that it is undeserving, will cause a person, who may otherwise lie or become defensive in a conversation to have a change of heart.  Undeserved kindness changes things, because that is what love is and what it does.  It covers a multitude of sins.

Choose today to be the loving person in your interactions.  Do you remember the last time you expected your loved one, co-worker or even a stranger to be rude to you, because of your very own actions, but instead they were kind and loving?  Do you remember how you felt?  Can't seem to think of anything?  Well, I've got the perfect example for you.  When JESUS came to this earth to die on the cross and bare our sins. Oh, we so deserved to die and be lost.  Yet, HIS love sent him to this earth and kept HIM on the cross.  Feeling better about this grace assignment now?
