Ahead of You
And Jacob said, "O God of my father Abraham and GOD of my father Isaac, O LORD who said to me, 'Return to your country and to your kindred, that I may do you good.'
The word of GOD has gone ahead of you. Sometimes we feel as though we are waiting for GOD to do something for us. We are often tempted to give up on a promise HE has made to us, because it may "look like" it's never going to happen. Perhaps, doubt may come in, when what GOD is asking us to do makes no sense to us at all.
For instance, it didn't seem logical that GOD would send Jacob back to the place in which he betrayed his brother in order to bless him. Yet Jacob trusted the LORD. He went on to say how he crossed the Jordan with only his staff in his hand. Yet, he was returning with two camps (abundance). Jacob acknowledged that he was fearful of his brother. Yet, he followed it up with these words..... v. 12 But you said, 'I will surely do you good, and make your offspring as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.
Jacob understood that GOD had already spoken a thing for his life, therefore he could have confidence in that word. This gave him the courage he needed to face his brother and whatever would come from that encounter.
I want to encourage you today, to fight with the promises GOD has made you. We're not waiting for GOD to fulfill HIS promise; they existed the minute HE spoke them to us or placed the dream/vision in our hearts. Trust that the word of GOD has already gone ahead of you and move with a spirit of expectation knowing that all things will work together for your good.
