More Blessed

Acts 20:35 ESV

In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the LORD JESUS, how he himself said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive."

So often there is a negative undercurrent when this word is read or spoken to others.  So often it's viewed as just another scripture to get others to give to their local assembly.  And yes, I believe in giving and the immutable law of sewing and reaping.  Yet, I want to challenge you to see things a different way.  I don't believe this scripture is talking solely about giving of offerings.  I believe it is about the ability to give and that alone being a blessing.

I'm sure you've heard others say that "It is a blessing to be a blessing."  It sounds good right? Well, that's because it is.  Most who give to others, give out of their abundance.  To have abundance is just what GOD wants for us. Christ came and died so that we could have an "abundant" life in every way.  Therefore, if you are giving from abundance and experiencing overflow, than it is a blessing.  If you are giving from a place of sacrifice, that too is a blessing that shall reap great reward. So either way you cut it; you're blessed!
