Bigger Than Me
Exodus 14:13 ESV
And Moses said to the people, "Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will work for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again.
Psalm 46:10 ESV
Be still, and know that I am God, I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!
I heard a pastor say recently (Steven Furtick); if it's too big for you, it's not your battle. So often we engage in a war that is not ours to fight. Or we frustrate ourselves worrying about the outcome of a thing, when we have done all we can and all God has instructed us to do.
I want to encourage you today, to not be moved by what you see. For, if it is too big for you, then it is indeed not your fight. God will take care of it and just as with the Egyptians, you will see this "thing" no more again forever.
Be encouraged. Trust God. Know that He is your fortress; a present help in the time of storm. In Psalm 46 the chapter talks about destruction and the many things that could go wrong. But it didn't end there, it shifted the focus back to God and how mighty He is. It talked about how none of the things mentioned beforehand (the earth being removed, mountains being tossed into the sea, waters that swelled so that they bought fear to the mountains) can change the fact that God is our safe place; our tower.
No matter what you've faced before reading this post, know that it is no match for our God. Shift your perspective; change your sights! I even dare you to get excited when things too big for you show up. For, all this means is that our God is getting ready to show Himself mighty in our lives. Stay focused on the things God has placed before you and allow God to take care of all the things that are bigger than you; they belong to Him anyway!
