Priceless Favor

Proverbs 3:3-4 ESV

Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart.  So you will find favor and good success in the sight of GOD and man.

Favor is priceless.  A dear friend of mine reminded me continuously last year, that although money can fix lots of things, it will never trump the favor of GOD.  So often we think that if we have the money to take care of a situation it will make everything better.  I am in no way saying that we should not be good stewards or avoid paying our bills.  The word of GOD tells us that money answers all things and that we should render unto Caesar what is due to him.  But what I've found in my life is that favor is priceless and worth so much more than money.

I have experienced many situations where GOD has favored me and my family in miraculous ways.  The life of my dad and my son are testimony to GOD's grace and favor.  I can testify of how GOD showed favor and healed my very own body at the alter during a church service.  There is testimony after testimony.  

However, I felt as though GOD would not allow me to overlook verse 3 today.  Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your  neck; write them on the tablet of your heart.  Note that these words come before the promise to have favor with GOD and man.  The LORD is telling us in this verse to make steadfast love and faithfulness who we are.  HE is telling us to love others no matter the circumstance and to be faithful in our relationships.  Whether it is our relationship with GOD, loved ones, co-workers or the like.  If you can name it; be faithful to it and watch GOD bless you and cause man to do the same.
