He Didn't Stay There

I Kings 19:4 NKJV
But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a broom tree.  And he prayed that he might die, and said "It is enough! Now, Lord, take my life, for I am no better than my fathers!"

Sometimes life will throw an unexpected situation at you and out of nowhere it will "appear" that all is lost.  But I'd like you to consider Elijah in this story.  He was a mighty prophet of God.  He called down fire from Heaven.  Yet, one misguided thought made this mighty Man of God go and hide under a tree and beg God to take his life.

Nothing changed about who he was.  And God definitely did not change.  So what shifted?  His perspective.  Perhaps today you, like Elijah, have allowed the lies of the enemy to invade your mind. Perhaps all you see is hopelessness around you.  Well, I am here to tell you that God still reigns that He is still in control.  God still has all power in His hands.  His gifts and callings are without repentance.

So get up man and woman of God and be about the business God has called you to.  Don't spend another day under that tree bitter and angry as you consider the words of the enemy.  Don't let him fool you into believing that what God has called you to do is any less important than what anyone else is doing.  Get up and move your feet!  Your destiny is waiting!
