The helmet, shield and sword
Ephesians 6: 16-18 NKJV
Above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.
The word begins in verse 10 by saying be strong "in the Lord".... It's His strength that we're standing in. Which makes sense, because as we go on in the scripture it tells us that we're putting on God's armor so it's logical that He would impart His strength into us; we couldn't stand in His armor without it. HIS armor is tried and true. His armor is the one that makes hell nervous and sends demons fleeing seven ways. It's God's armor and all of hell knows it! It recognizes it. It shakes in it's boots because the one wearing that armor defeated darkness forever more. When we stand in the armor of God, all hell sees is God. So put it on already!!
Now, in verse number 16 of this chapter says... above all take the shield of faith, with which you will quench all the fiery darts of the evil one, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God..... All three of these things pertain to words. With faith, you believe and declare the word of God over your life and you push back darkness. Your faith pushes back and that dagger (the word of God) in your hand separates belief from unbelief, shielding your mind from the lies (words) of the enemy. The knowledge of who God is; the knowledge of His word; the knowledge of your state of salvation, is what the enemy attacks, but the word of God shields it [with the helmet of salvation].
The accuser of the brothern will come at your mind with his lies. he's going to tell you how you are too far gone to be saved. But, again you'll take your dagger and remind him of the place God has prepared for you.[You'll really injure him, when you remind him of what's been prepared for him as well].
Study the word of God, so that you can be fully dressed for battle. The more I study His word, the more I want to. I challenge you to study the word of God each day for the next 21 days. You choose the time and the place and meet God there during your appointed time. I promise you, He's going to bless your life and strengthen you. I'm praying for you my brothers and sisters.
