15D - The Gift of Celebration

Psalm 139:14 NIV
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

I want to encourage you to celebrate you today. Yes, you because God created you on purpose for a purpose and you are fearfully and wonderfully made.

I celebrate today, because it's my birthday. But not in a vain "It's my birthday" kinda way.  You see growing up, somewhere around 5th grade birthday parties stopped for me.  I received my mom's homemade lemon cake with the candy letters on top.  I remember smelling it baking and knowing that it was just for me.  Eventually, the cake, the card and the rag doll my dad always bought home from his night job no longer came.  Not because my parents didn't love me or were cruel.  By no means.  I love both my parents. They've worked really hard their whole lives providing for us and taking care of others.  I'm so grateful to God for my parents.  But somehow, the enemy tried to convince me that my birthday wasn't worth celebrating; that no one noticed me; and that I too should stop celebrating it myself.

But in hindsight what the enemy meant for evil; God turned for good.  Because you see what the enemy didn't know is that on that first birthday when no cake came and I got a happy birthday as both my parents left for their second jobs, was that I would decide to celebrate others.  I take no credit at all for it.  It was God on the inside of me birthing forth my purpose in this earth.  So that today, this blog exists and I can tell you to celebrate you!  To celebrate the fact that nothing about you was a mistake. That our Heavenly Father orchestrated it all, right down to the day, hour, minute and second that you were born.

I was born on December 21st; the first day of winter.  The day that seasons officially change.  What better day to birth an atmosphere changer!  Oh yes, I am indeed that.  I say this humbly, but boldly.  Because God made me, in His perfect timing and I'll do everything within my power to fulfill the purpose He placed inside of me; which is to encourage others.  So today, get up, look in the mirror.  See your beauty and celebrate it!
