Leap for Love

Each year we've celebrated February as the month of love and we usually challenge our readers to a 28-day love challenge.  Well, in this leap year, we've decided to Leap for Love.  We pray that you'll join us in this leap.  It will challenge you to not only show love, but to be love, just as our Heavenly Father is.  May this devotional encourage you, heal your hearts and produce a group of believers that will chase after the heart of our God.

Leap for Love - Day 1

I John 4:7-8 ESV

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.  Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.  

What better place to start in this leap, then with the one who is love; God.  It has been said or pondered... how can one love another, unless he first loves himself....?  Yet, I ask,  how can one know himself without knowing the God who created him?  

We are made in the image of God.  However, so few really know the God in whose image they reflect.  How do I know this?  Because we live in a world full of low self esteem, self degradation, and the like.  If we understood who our God is, we would have a far better view of ourselves than what we have.  Our God is amazing.  He is powerful; full of strength and might.  Our God is well able!  We too are all these things.

Our first leap of this month, is to challenge you to seek God today.  Seek Him in prayer.  Ask God to show Himself to you.  Ask God to give you a vision of who you are in Him.  Ask God to show you how He sees you.  Then receive the word He speaks and walk in it's power and might!
