The choice is yours. You get to choose good or bad. No, you are not able to choose for anyone else; but that's a great thing. You're responsible solely for your choices. So what are you going to choose today?
Will you choose joy over sorrow? Will you choose to testify or complain?
I am not delusional; I know that bad things happen that we did not choose, cause, nor have the power to change. However, we can change our minds; shift our perspectives and choose to give praise to God even in the midst of a bad situation.
It's a choice. Tonight I could have complained about an issue that has been ongoing for nearly a week. But there's one problem... I make a declaration almost everyday that this is the day that the Lord has made and I will rejoice and be glad in it (Psalm 118:24). I start the day off with declarations of victory. I send these words ahead of me in Jesus name. So when the bad shows up I have a decision to make. I either believe my current circumstances or the word of God that I declared over my life that morning.
Today, I chose to text my best friend and tell how God has been great to me and my children and how yet again God has blessed us beyond measure. I told him how I felt the need to testify to someone about the goodness of God, especially in the face of an unfortunate situaiton. I see the situation and I chose to speak the word of God instead of what I see.
What are you saying today? Will you praise God? Will you choose to speak life? Choose wisely....
Deuteronomy 30:19 NIV
This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.
