Soap & Dirt

I John 1:7, 9 NKJV
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Recently God gave me an analogy of soap and dirt.  He said..."Do you know how you have to trust soap?"  Trust soap??  "Yes.  You know how although you cannot see how it is done, soap cleans away all the germs and residue that comes along with dirt?  And how soap prevents the spread of disease and it cleans you up, no matter how dirty you are????"  Yes, Lord.....

Well, that's how your faith is in my blood.  It's your belief that although you don't know how I am cleaning you up and taking away the debt and burden of your sins when you accept salvation, it is still being done.  And just like soap always wins out over dirt, no matter how dirty you are; that's what my blood does for the sinner; for your sins.  My blood continues to clean and because of the blood not only are you made whole and clean; your heart is stirred to want to remain clean (to change your life; to live for me).

For the person who is struggling to believe that God loves you or even wants to love you... or perhaps you've believed the lie that you're just too dirty for Him.... go wash your hands.  Yes, literally.  It's that simple.  Salvation is just that simple.  Forgiveness of sins is that simple.  Every time you wash your hands let it symbolize all your sins being cleansed away.  Just as that particular sudsy water washes down the drain, never to be seen by you again, so are your sins washed away.
