As it Were

Mark 9:22-23 NASB

It has often thrown him both into the fire and into the water to kill him.  But if You can do anything, take pity on us, and help us! But Jesus said to him, “If You can?  All things are possible for the one who believes.”

 Just a few verses prior to these, this man believed that his son could be healed.  But when he got to the disciples, they were unable to heal his son.  So, by the time that Jesus arrived on the scene to ask what was happening, the man’s faith had dwindled, and his words reflected this.  “If you can….”

I am here to tell you today to hold fast to your faith.  Do not allow your expectation to go through a downsizing.  Do not allow the space of time between God’s promise and its manifestation cause you to doubt or to react from a place of fear. 

Do not worry if you are like this man and you want to believe, yet you have been disappointed and find believing hard to do in this moment.  For God is saying the same thing to you today…All things are possible for you if you believe.  God will keep His promises.  God is able to do what He said He can do. So today, let us pray boldly; believing that as children of God that our Heavenly Father heard us, and He answered us in the very moment we made our request.
