Need to Know Basis

 

Genesis 12:1 ESV

Now the Lord said to Abram, "Go from your country and your kindred and your father's house to the land that I will show you."

Hebrews 11:8 ESV

By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place that he was to recieve as an inheritance.  And he went out, not knowing where he was going.

Wishing you knew exactly what God had planned?  Like how He planned to bring your child back home or heal your spouse.  Are you wondering how in the world unemployment can be used as part of God's plan?  If so, you're not alone.  

I imagine Abram had some questions as well.  Yet, at God's command, he left everything to go to a place that God promised to show him.  The Lord did not give Abram a road map.  He did not share his "location" with Abram.  He just told him to go and Abraham went.  What would make a man obey such a wild request?  Perhaps to Abram it was not wild at all.  Perhaps God had spoken enough times and what He said came to pass and that Abram had the testimonies to prove it. Abram knew that when God spoke, he needed to believed Him and obey.  

Don't allow your "need to know" in this season make you miss the miracle you would receive in walking by faith.  Choose to trust God, even when He does not reveal "all" to you.  Trust not only when you can see the way, but especially when you cannot. For our God is the way, the truth and the life and He will light your pathway.
